Knitting Fundamentals: the SSK (slip slip knit) decrease for Right Handed Knitters

The ssk (or slip, slip, knit) is used in knitting as a mirrored decrease to the k2tog (knit 2 together). It leans the opposite way – for right handed knitters, the k2tog leans right and ssk leans left. Often for lace or knitting where the shape of the fabric matters, you'll want SSKs on one side and K2togs on the the other side so the decreases are symmetric. How to work a ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip 1 stitch knitwise. Slip 1 knitwise. Transfer these stitches back to the holding needle, and in your working needle into the back of these two stitches, drawing a loop through and working them together as if 1 stitch. #knitting, #knittingforbeginners, #knittingdecreases, #knitrino, #stitchybee, #knittingbasics #howtoknit
