For left-leaning cables, always slip stitches through the back loops. (For right-leaning cables, always slip through the front loops of stitches.) Instructions: Slip the next 5 stitches together as if to purl through the back loops (tbl). Transfer 2 stitches together tbl back to the holding needle, untwisting them. Transfer the next 3 stitches together tbl back to the holding needle, untwisting them. Work the cable by knitting 5 stitches. (For a 2/3 Left Purl Cross, you would p3, k2.)
