How to Join in the Round and Knit - Knitting for Right Handed Beginners

When you're learning to knit in the round, one of the most confusing parts is getting the stitches to be, um, IN THE ROUND! This video shows you in slow motion and step-by-step, how to place a marker, join in the round, and knit for absolute beginners. After casting on, make sure the stitches aren't twisted around the needle. Arrange the needles in a circle, with the working yarn on your dominant-hand side. Place a marker on the working needle to indicate the start and end of the round. Hold the working needle in your dominant hand and the holding needle in your other hand. Insert the working needle into the first stitch on the holding needle. This is called "knitwise" since it's a knit stitch. Wrap the working yarn around the working needle, ensuring you don't catch the tail. Draw the yarn through the loop to the front, creating a new loop on the working needle. Keep the stitches loose for easier handling.
