How to Bind Off - Knitting for Left-Handed Beginners

This video shows how to bindoff or cast off all stitches knitwise at the end of a project for left handed mirror knitters. You've got this! Binding off (also called casting off) is one of the essential skills you'll need, even though you usually don't do it more than once per project. The most important thing to remember is to keep your stitches nice and loose, so they have plenty of room to stretch. Position the yarn at the rear of the work between the needles, remove the beginning of round stitch marker, and proceed with the bind-off. The bind-off process involves two stitches. Start by knitting the initial two stitches, ensuring a loose knitting tension. Lift the first knitted stitch over the second stitch and off the working needle. One stitch bound off! With a single stitch remaining on the needle, knit one additional stitch. Now lift the first stitch over the second stitch, removing it from the working needle. Repeat this sequence until you reach the last stitch, always ensuring your stitches are loose to prevent a tight bind-off. The resulting bind-off should look like a row of sideways, nested stitches that are plenty loose enough to stretch. When you come to the last stitch on the holding needle, knit it. Bind off the final stitch. Cut the yarn, and draw the tail through the last loop to secure it. All stitches bound off!
